Program Overview



7TH & Madison Learning Center is an accredited Specialized Mentoring program designed for teenagers 18-21 years old. We are currently serving Essex and Union counties, for youth diagnosed with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Community- Based Supports Specialist provide services that provide direct support, encouragement, and assistance for members, with or without the caregiver present, in or out of the member's residence, to achieve and/or maintain the outcomes of increased independence, productivity, enhanced family functioning and inclusion in the community.


Specialized Mentoring Supports are delivered with no more than two teens and may include but are not limited to: assistance with community-based activities and assistance to, as well as training and supervision of, individuals as they learn and perform the various tasks that are included in basic self-care, social skills, money management, computer lab access, transportation training/awareness, ordering from a menu, going out to restaurants, increasing social skills, and activities of daily living. 

  
7TH & Madison offers a unique approach, we develop custom programs specific to the areas our member's and their families wish to increase socialization skills, communication skills, independence, and self-esteem.
